DIGIFUNK
DIGIFUNK© is an ongoing project and pilot study where we explore dance, music, and VR within an artistic and pedagogical context. The specific objectives of this pilot study are:
-
Get an understanding of the life of children with disabilities within their two main spheres; family/home and school.
-
Reflect about the role of the participants involved in the design process
-
Test ideas of DIGIFUNK on the future users
For this study a qualitative method is being applied through a combination of
secondary sources and primary sources from observations and experience prototypes, in-depth, interviews with pedagogical staff, but also practitioners and experts from different disciplines such as dance, music, psychology, and interaction design.
Our Project Manager, Angelica Piñeros, laid the foundations for the project through her Master's Thesis. Building on her work, our aim after the study is to continue and expand the project over the coming years, developing an interactive digital platform where users—primarily children—can actively engage in artistic activities, both at home with their families and in schools with their friends and teachers.
DIGIFUNK is being conducted at two schools in Stockholm, Innovitaskolan Joriel and Hästhagsskolan. Additionally, we will hold one workshop at The Swedish Museum of Performing Arts. The pilot study is funded by the Kulturbryggan programme of The Swedish Arts Council (Konstnärsnämnden).
